What is the Bible Bee?
The Bible Bee is competition that tests both Bible knowledge and "Bible Verse" memorization.
The Bible Bee is a friendly competition that encourages students in their faith and love for the Word of God. It promotes learning and memorizing Scripture. We believe that the Bible Bee is a Christ-centered, community building event.
Ages:
The competition is for students in 1st-6th grade.
Competition Levels:
Level 1: Grade 1-2
Level 2: Grade 3-4
Level 3: Grade 5-6
When:
The first round of the Bible Bee will take place on March 4th and will be a all class scrimmage during Bible time. This will not be an actual match, but everyone will participate for a fun time of Bible trivia.
Round 2: March 11th
Round 3: March 17th
Playoff: April 8th
Championship: April 22nd
Cost:
There is a $5 entry fee per team.
Prizes:
1st Place: Medal and Crumbl Cookie Gift Card
2nd Place: Medal
3rd Place: Medal
All Competitors: Sticker and Certificate

What are the rules?
The Bible Bee Competition will consist of both Bible knowledge questions + Bible Verse recitation.
Round 1: Multiple Choice
Each team will answer 10 multiple-choice questions.
Questions will be worth 10 points each.
Teams will have 30 seconds to answer each question.
Round 2: Bible Verse Memory
Teams will recite or complete 5 Bible verses from memory.
Each correct recitation or completion is worth 20 points.
Teams will have 1 minute per verse.
Round 3: Short Answer
Teams will answer 8 short-answer questions about Bible stories and themes.
Each correct answer is worth 15 points.
Teams will have 45 seconds to answer each question.
Playoff and Championship Rounds
Playoff Round:
The top 4 teams from each age level (based on total points from the first 3 rounds) will advance to the playoffs.
The playoff round will feature 5 challenging open-ended questions.
Each correct answer is worth 25 points.
Teams will have 1 minute per question.
Championship Round:
The top 2 teams from the playoff round will advance to the championship.
The championship will include 3 advanced Bible knowledge questions and 2 Bible verse recitations.
Each correct answer is worth 50 points.
Teams will have 2 minutes per question.
Scoring and Advancement
Points are cumulative through the initial 3 rounds.
Playoff scores reset, with advancement based solely on performance in that round.
The team with the highest score in the championship round will be declared the winner.
Rules During Competition
Conduct:
Participants must adhere to respectful and sportsmanlike conduct.
Disruptive behavior may result in disqualification.
Answer Submission:
Teams must designate one spokesperson to provide answers.
Answers must be clear and concise.
Use of Resources:
No external materials (e.g., Bibles, notes, or electronic devices) are allowed during the competition.
Judging:
Judges' decisions are final and cannot be contested.
Clarifications may be sought before the competition begins.
Brackets
Initial Rounds:
Teams will be randomly assigned to compete in the first 3 rounds.
Scores from these rounds determine playoff qualification.
Playoff Bracket:
The top 4 teams from each age level compete in a single-elimination format.
Matchups will be based on seeding from the initial rounds (1st vs. 4th, 2nd vs. 3rd).
Championship Bracket:
The winners of the playoff matches advance to the championship.
The championship determines the overall winner for each age level.
