FAQ About Micro-School
-
Parents must remain on campus and volunteer in a classroom for students’ Birth-kindergarten. For students 1st-12th grade we have a drop off option, but we highly encourage parents volunteering at least part time either in the classroom or in another capacity at the Micro-School.
If you choose the drop off option, we ask that you be on campus to pick up your student on time. For students in 7th-12th grade we have a study hall area where students may wait between classes.
All adults on campus must pass a background check and complete KOGA safety training to be eligible to be on campus.
-
If your student is in birth-kindergarten you must be on campus and in a classroom.
We highly encourage all participating families to volunteer in some capacity at the micro-school. We desire parents to have a strong hand in their child's education and to be an integral part of the school.
We have many areas to volunteer:
Teacher's aid
Security and recess monitor
Admin office
Library
Volunteering positions will be determined by the campus coordinator and are subject to adjustment.

We use a variety of curriculums to shape our micro-school.
At Kids of Grace Academy we strive to choose curriculums that have high educational standards and are engaging to the student. We also take into account the time and commitment that will be put on families who participate in micro-school. We want students to have a successful learning experience without over burdening the family.
Additionally, we strive to use curriculums that are adaptable to home and classroom learning. Most importantly, whenever possible, we want our curriculums to be Christ-centered and God glorifying.
For more details on the curriculums we have chosen please visit our micro-school class and curriculum breakdown.
-
You will need to purchase curriculum for most, but not all, micro-school classes.
Most teacher guides or complete curriculums are not necessary, but student books will often be required. We are creating a comprehensive list of the books needed for at-home learning and will post when it's complete.

Currently, we have four A-Day, Prime programming, locations; Lake Oswego, Oregon City, Canby, and Newberg.
We are striving to keep the programming the same for our core programming at each location. Each location will vary on which focus classes, electives, and grades are offered. Our High School program and Enrichment program will be at Lake Oswego.
Our goal is for each campus to grow and be able to offer more programming.
-
Each micro-school is led by a campus coordinator. The campus coordinator is in direct communication with the central staff and will oversee the campus teachers, volunteers, programming, culture, and safety.
