Where Home Meets School

We define a micro-school as a cooperative school that meets 1-2 times a week, where students are led and instructed by a teacher who partners with parents and sets the students up to work at home.

At School

Timber Trails Micro-School Day exists of two separate days: a {MEG} A-Day and a B-Day. Depending on their schedule and educational goals, families can register for one day or both. A paid teacher will lead each classroom. The teachers will plan the lesson each day based on the published scope and sequence.

At Home

At home, families can follow along with each subject's weekly reading and assignments. In class, teachers will primarily focus on activities and projects based on the at-home bookwork. The program's success and enjoyment also hinge on the parent volunteers' participation. All children must have at least one parent/guardian for the preschool through kindergarten levels.

Key Features We Provide

  • Families have different learning styles, availability, or expectations regarding an educational organization. That is why we designed our program to be flexible, allowing families to adapt it to fit their educational convictions.

  • Knowing how to start and where to go is one of the more challenging things about taking education into your own hands. Our goal is to bring clarity and vision for the future by providing a scope and sequence that spans from preschool to graduation.

  • At the Primary level, we stagger certain curriculum subjects into cycles so families can have the flexibility for a family-time approach at home. In the classroom, teachers will scale each project based on the ability of the age.

  • We view our role in education as an opportunity to help kids grow in their Christian worldview by showing them how God is the master of our world and our lives. At KOGA, we use an excellent curriculum and train our teachers to teach gospel-centered Christian values.

  • Parents are divinely commissioned to be the chief agents in accounting for their child's education. We view our relationship with parents as a partnership where we come alongside and support them.

  • While the parent is still the responsible accountant in educating their kids, they don’t need to be lone wolves. We provide teachers who will manage each classroom and lesson plan for each class, and collaborate with the parents to aid their children’s education. The teacher will report to the campus director. We intend to keep class sizes from 15 to 20 kids per teacher. This size range will allow for more detailed interaction between the teacher and the students while keeping the natural chaos of a classroom to a minimum.
